Get your boots and come with me

 Heya friends!

I finally managed to go hiking again in my home country Bulgaria. Because I was living for such a long time abroad in the Netherlands, Belgium, and Greece, I didn't have that much time to go back home and spend some quality time in the magnificent mountains. Now I'm still living in Greece but have much more available time on my hands, plus the short distance to home surely helps.

I was wondering yesterday about which good hiking places I could put in my posts and spend quite some time choosing my top three. There are so many good spots that it was really difficult to make my choice. Nevertheless, I decided to share with you the ones that stuck with me the most and which I would love to visit again and again.

All photos I took personally when hiking and exploring. Let me know what you think about the places and whether you have been to any of them. Hope to see you someday while "adventuring" in the Bulgarian mountains. Enjoy!

And a final little advice on what not to forget when going to hiking in Bulgaria (and to be fair, in general, as well). If you're an experienced nature lover, you probably don't need this list because you already know it by heart. But if you're just starting with your journey, here's what you definitely need to bring with you.

Essentials:

- water bottle and enough water for your trip. You need this to survive the long routes and stay healthy.

- hiking shoes/boots. The comfier, the better. Make sure they're good for difficult and slipper roads.

- raincoat/wind-proof jacket. Lifesaver if the weather gets a bit crazy.

- snacks and nutritional food.

- cap/hat. It could save you from the sun, rain, and strong wind.

- medicine that you need and/or might need in case of an emergency.

- camera that can capture all your best moments and amazing views that you stumble upon. And trust me, you will!

- good stamina, my friends. Don't go if you think you can't handle the roads and weather conditions. (Or do, who am I to stop you? Just be careful and take care of yourself!).

And of course, bring your smile, good mood, and enthusiasm for exploring new adventures. You absolutely got this!

Stay safe and go crazy.
